“Being A Man” In Indian Society

The question is what does it mean to be a man? Right?

Many peoples think it’s easy. A man is a being who does all the hard work, is strong enough to handle pressure, depression, etc.

A man never cries aka “MARD KO KABHI DARD NAHI HOTA (men don’t feel pain)”. A human being who gets strong or tends to be strong by facing things like “ache se padho bade hokar ghar sambhalna hai (study well, you have to lead your house)” or “ladke ho tum rote nahi sirf chot hi toh lagi hai (be a man, don’t cry because of this injury)”

It’s just the childhood things but in every step of life, a man is judged by his behaviour, nature, etc.

When we wake up in the morning, we always think “Today, we have to fight not only from life but from people and society too“. We have to be stronger than other men, if we are not, then people again judge us as weak, and not capable to be a man. In our teenage, we can’t express our emotions, our sexuality, or our needs.

Why can’t we cry at our own parent’s funeral? Why do we have to hide when we are crying?

A man is a hero for their children, a ‘hero’ is defined as the strongest, can get any job done, problems are like ants in front of him. What if he cried one day? Heroes don’t cry, is he really a hero?

He is just a loser doing a job like other men. A hero is different, a hero doesn’t do things similar to others.

Again what does it mean to be a man, a loser? Getting judged by society daily, tending to be strong, not crying even if want to but still living life with a smile on his face. Doesn’t matter what pressure he is under, tending to be stronger cause his family depends on his happiness. A real hero not just for children but for the world.

Again asking what do you think it means to be a Man?

It means to be a real superhero. Family, society, and the world need us. We have to be stronger not because we are men but because we are heroes running the world.
