Who Decides What Is Perfect For You?

perfection

Perfect is something which everyone yearns for. But what is this perfect about, I ask? It is defined as flawless, that it contains no flaws. It can be any process or any piece of work. It can be anything and everything for you, which, you as a living being desire for. There is no wrong in desiring something which you don’t have at the moment, but want it in the future, to become a better happier version of yourself.

You as a unique person should, or better, must have a unique definition of perfect which resonates with you.

The only thing which makes me ask and write this, who decides what is perfect for you? You may say that it is you. But ask yourself one question, is the perfection which you are after defined by you or someone else? The whole concept of perfect, whether it is lifestyle or scores, is in some way defined by society and ingrained so deep in our minds that it is almost next to impossible to tell the moment of its inception in our subconscious mind.

As an artist, this race behind perfection can sometimes rob your peace of mind. It is at this moment it becomes imperative who defines the perfect and rates the perfection of your work, which is straight out of your heart. This is the same for almost every other aspect in life except a few. You as a unique person should, or better, must have a unique definition of perfect which resonates with you. The whole of nature exists, moreover, thrives on the flaws and continues to amuse us.

Indeed, for academics and other related aspects, to maintain a uniform standard for easy and better decision making, a score is attached to the process. But again, the concept of perfect is coined and associated with the society.

Perfect is a concept which is entirely abstract but can influence our decisions. Remember that the decisions concern you, so the parameters should be decided by you and not society before running after the perfect.
