A lot of faces fell down as soon as the chances of Rahul Gandhi becoming the Congress President again started floating. The Congressmen did not protest, always being on agreeable terms, sharing the same sense of disposition. Many considered Rahul cute, sweet and attentive — a 10/10 clasp. He had got accustomed to talking in the public and was aware of people’s comments on his luck.
By now most of us have learnt that Nehru-Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi is most probably set to hold a greatly prestigious post of the party President in days to dawn. Yet, it does not appear as easy as it sounds, with challenges coming out one after the another. Disgruntled leaders within the party are not in a reconciliatory mood. The news has also upset older party leaders and their advancement towards revamping the Congress cadre after many debacles during elections for the past two years.

The five-hour-long meeting that interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi recently held with her colleagues, including the core team of 23 leaders who wrote to her seeking sweeping reforms within, may have helped break the ice, but the coolness is far from ceasing. Those who signed the letter remained firm on their demands that include internal elections at all levels and establishment of a “collective leadership mechanism”.
One of the most reliable leaders has lately said that there persists agreement on choosing Rahul Gandhi as the party’s president. “The party will soon start the procedure to elect a new party president. An electoral college of the Congress, AICC (All India Congress Committee) members, Congress workers and members will choose who’s best suited,” Mr Randeep Surjewala said.

Rahul who had tendered his resignation following his failure in bringing victory to the party at the Elections in 2019.
He is once again set to adorn the chair of the party’s chief.
However, the chances of securing the party’s plum post keep coming on his way. Thus, responsibilities keep coming back to his beaten path. The party want to keep him on a post of accountability. This stress will keep Rahul Gandhi involved in pondering over party’s better prospects.
