Being a B.Tech, CSE student of Quantum University, Roorkee, I want to share my experience of the Covid-19 Lockdown though this article. For me, the COVID-19 lockdown brought various advantages and disadvantages. Initially, I was happy about the virus, because I was thinking of no college and having an easy life, enjoying all day, with movies and playing games.
But, right from the very first day of lockdown, my university shifted to the online mode of education and regular classes began. The adoption rate of the online classes turned out to be far beyond my exceptions, it was around 85-90%.
In addition to online classes, I attended a lot of webinars and online workshops, which helped me in better understanding of the subject, and in networking as well. Overall, I would say that the quality of teaching and learning online remained the same.
I Was Confined To My Room
At the same time, I missed the sparkling life of the campus during the lockdown. As for the social side of student life at Quantum’s big and beautiful campus, there was never a dull moment. But lockdown reduced my previously vibrant social life to the confines of my room.
Gradually, the time passed and the lockdown was extended further. College authorities arranged a virtual internship for me and my final year exams were also held online.
Even the placements went online, but with enough support form the college, I bagged a job offer from HCL. Now, I am looking forward to the convocation ceremony and working for HCL.
In the end, I would say that Quantum University, in particular, has gone above and beyond to uphold the quality of the academic experience while striving to provide the kind of social support a student like myself so desperately needed.
