As we all know, this phase of the nationwide lockdown, due to the Covid-19 outbreaks, has not been witnessed before. We have all been forced to restrict ourselves, to save mankind and it’s our responsibility. Somehow, life has also been running from a different perspective; only survival strategies form our priorities right now.
Life is not about the same routine; ups and downs are a part of one’s life. Robin Sharma in his book ‘Who Will Cry When You Die?’ also believes that sometimes we should talk to ourselves, where we can’t lie to ourselves.
Nobody knows better than us. This helps us stay true to ourselves. This technique develops and aids us to discover all our strengths and weaknesses. The journey of our life in different time frames inspires us to move on. Because all experiences, good or bad, will help us to overcome any obstacles or difficulties while moving on!
Searching For Positivity
It’s true that human beings are social animals yet social distancing is our new practice.
Lockdown doesn’t really mean we have to shut down completely. Homosapiens are seekers, we crave knowledge and wisdom from the very beginning. Learning is an ongoing process. A process which begins at birth and ends with death. Though this lockdown is painful, we must seek pleasure in disguise. There is always a silver lining.
This pandemic has taught me how to be self-reliant, how to abstract happiness from small things that we usually foresee. It has also taught me that true wealth is not material property but health is.
Before this lockdown, I used to spend a lot of time without even realising that I was wasting it, but now I know the importance of time and how limited it is. So, I am trying to spend it wisely. This lockdown has definitely changed me and I am thankful for what I am becoming. As I said, there is always a pleasure in learning in life’s own way!
Meanwhile, inspiration can be sought from anything..just anything. For no problem is bigger than you, your spirit, your commitment and confidence! Simply putting, we do not know about ourselves. In order to change, we must first know ourselves. Therefore, I’m learning to be at peace with myself!
Live In The ‘Now’
Well, I mean where we are right now. Not where we want to be and that is ‘Lockdown’- we are more familiar with this terminology.
Besides these, I have learnt that we humans are nothing compared to the mighty force of nature. If nature wants so, we could be destroyed in just a matter of seconds. This discovery or rather self-discovery taught me to be humble and generous towards life and people. Unity, yes unity, is the only way humans can thrive in the world. Nothing can beat unity, apart from this, everything is man-made. Only unity despite our differences will help us navigate the crisis.
In her book, ‘Life is what you make it’, Preeti Shenoy acknowledges that whatever is happening in our lives is not permanent so anything can change at any given circumstance. This book is a very encouraging book on how unpredictable life can be! Life does not always move on according to our wishes but often surprises us. We can choose happiness regardless of what anyone says or does or anything that happens with us! This should be our truest desire in life.
In the end, this lockdown has shown us that challenges are a part of life and we are always prepared for challenges. We may never know when it comes!
To sum up, the meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so simple. Life, to me, is an amazing opportunity! Here’s hoping that the situation normalises soon !
