According to its page, “It plans to make the most of this by providing a single avenue to cater to all the needs and issues of the Delhi populace during these tough times.”
The application comprises a self-assessment tool, guidelines and important helpline numbers for the safety of users.
It also provides other services, which include the following:
- List of COVID centres
- An option to apply for ration
- Find a hunger relief centre
- Find a shelter
- Get an e-pass for mobility
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the app was launched to make the process of searching for a hospital bed easier for the infected person.
He further said, “We want to ensure is that if people are infected and need hospitalisation, they don’t have to run from pillar to post to look for facilities. We have made arrangements.”
Accepting the actuality, CM Kejriwal said that many people had had the difficulties in getting themselves or their relatives admitted. The app would notify the user with the latest information about the number of beds available in different hospitals across the national capital.
As per the Delhi government website, currently, the city has 6,656 hospital beds available, which includes 2,692 occupied and 3,964 vacant. The number of available ventilators is 302, comprising 38 occupied and 264 vacant. It has specified details of vacant beds and ventilators in different government and private hospitals.
Delhi confirmed 990 positive cases of coronavirus in 24 hours. A total of 20,834 cases have been reported, crossing the 20,000-mark. Theh death toll has amounted to 523, while 8746 people have been discharged.
