Ambedkar was one of the leading architecture of the present Indian society, based on its liberal Constitution. If we analyse the contribution of Ambedkar, then we will find that he stood against all kinds of inequality and injustice.
The misconception or intentionally limiting him as a Dalit leader is injustice to him. He was a supporter of women equality and protecter of labourers.
Unlike Karl Marx, Ambedkar focused on caste and caste-based inequality and discrimination. He found caste to be an obstacle to establishing an egalitarian society. He asserted the need to overthrow the caste system and created awareness about the dangers of this system.
He was an activist as well. He participated in the movement against caste hierarchy and domination, as well as for the removal of stigma of untouchability. He made strong provisions in the Constitution for the empowerment of dalits and other marginalized section of india.
He understood well enough the dangers of majoritarian notion of democracy. For him, democracy was not limited to the political sphere. He found democracy to be a triadic entity—his democracy is political, social and economic.
According to Ambedkar, society must be based on equality, freedom and Rights. He also knows that without proper provision of Rights, actual empowerment was not possible. In the present time, the ideas of Ambedkar are symbols of hope and justice to all.
