I got a chance to visit the ‘Monument to an Anonymous Peer Reviewer’ was unveiled at a ceremony at Moscow’s Higher School of Economics. It is near one of the buildings of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, where I am currently enrolled.
Peer-review is defined as a process that determines an academic paper’s suitability for publication. It is an important part of academic life, and all good publications rely on the peer-reviewers’ thoughts on the material submitted for publication. Peer-reviewers are considered experts in the subject matter and can suggest rejecting, revising, resubmitting or accepting the article for publication.
It is a monument worth visiting in Moscow if you are somehow connected to academic life.
