To,
The Education Ministry of Haryana,
In this particular article I want to tell you about the dark side of private universities in India, Haryana in particular. Nowadays, getting a good education for an average student is extremely difficult. I am pursuing MCA (Masters in Computer Applications) from one of the private universities (Maharishi Markandeshwar Mullana, Ambala, deemed to be university). They are doing nothing to groom a student, they are just collecting high fees from the students and doing nothing. The teachers they recruit don’t have little knowledge about their respective subjects; actually, they have zero knowledge about their subjects, if you ask me.
I still remember, in my second semester, one teacher was appointed to teach us one of the main subjects of computer applications, Data Structures, commonly known as DS. She herself didn’t know how to write a simple algorithm and used to come only two days a week. It’s not about getting a job or something. It’s about the fact that we have a system like this where no one is interested in doing their work, they are just there for pretending they are doing a job, but, in reality, they are cheating themselves and destroying the careers of students as well.
The principal of our institute doesn’t listen to the request of the students. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with migraines and it’s getting worse day by day. Recently, my doctor advised me not to travel, and to rest for 3 weeks. I requested my principal to give me leave for that duration, but he said he won’t allow me to sit at home for 3 weeks as their so-called institute wants me to maintain 75% in the semester otherwise they won’t allow me to sit in the final exams.
I don’t know much about the condition of other private universities, but the condition of ours is the worst, I feel. Through this platform I highly suggest students who are serious about their career, please don’t take admission in this university, and I request the Education Ministry of Haryana take some serious action against this university. I won’t be surprised if this institute get closed permanently. Please take this into consideration as soon as possible.
Yours,
Mayur Arora
