A lack of decent air has been wreaking havoc on the nation!
Absence of pure, breathable air, believe it or not, has become a source of very tough times in the country. It is a well-known fact that air is an essential element for survival. Smoking—which is the number one cause for lung cancer—has found a tough opponent in the polluted air, which is pervading the atmosphere today.
Young people who are in their 30s and 40s are falling victim to fatal lung cancers at an exponential rate, as noted by renowned chest surgeon, Dr Arvind Kumar at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. The impact of deadly gases like sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide has contributed to air pollution becoming one of the chief causes for obstructive pulmonary diseases, disturbing both mental and physical well being. Just like the smog floating in the capital city, cities like Kolkata, Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai and many more, have also been struggling to find unpolluted air to breathe.
A resolution to rid the atmosphere of this silent poison should be no less than a revolution; a revolution that is fundamental to the well being of humanity; contributing not only towards the national subsistence but also to global elevation. It is the community of nations that make up the earth after all!
Some of the first steps to this crucial resolution should be to break into the intrigue of the government and corporate bodies that make huge profits on lead-based gasoline usages, decelerating the sulphur content used in diesel production, elimination of the emission of carcinogenic, mercury, cadmium, mineral oil, organophosphates, organohalogens, and petroleum hydrocarbons which harm the water and air component.
Launching spraying rinses could be yet another solution, and the most cost-effective yet prominent solution would be increasing buffer areas or green belt areas across the industrial segments, evaporation of wastes to an optimum level, installing pollutant control measuring instruments, and giving up the excessive use of vehicles emitting tremendous levels of pollutants, thereby affecting the roads. All of this could culminate at the beginning of a “VAYU REVOLUTION”.
