When questioned on the lack of industries and jobs in the state, JDU Spokesperson Dr Ajay Alok, at a BBC Hindi Convention in Patna, defended JDU’s rule, calling it a freedom of Indian citizens of Bihar to migrate to other states for work, thus shadowing the inability of the state in retaining its workforce.
The notable remark came after a citizen shamed Nitish Kumar’s almost 15 years of rule in the state, over its failure to produce a policy to retain and make available jobs for Biharis in Bihar itself, saying that the number of Janshatabdi Expresses is increasing steadily, while there is little demand for the Humsafar Express. Dr Ajay Alok, further cherried on the successes of JDU’s rule, for a rise in urbanisation, etc.

Dr Ajay Alok was among the panellists for the first round of discussion at the convention #BoleBihar, organised on Friday, 15th March, by BBC Hindi at Adhiveshan Bhawan in the capital city of Patna. Other panellists were Akhilesh Singh from Congress and Shivanand Tiwari of RJD. The day-long convention saw the presence of politicians and delegations from various political parties, including Kanhaiyya Kumar of CPI-ML, and was filled mostly with students from various colleges of Patna, while common citizens and activists also participated. The convention was organised in light of the coming Lok Sabha election, and a number of interesting (most of them absurd) remarks were made by our politicians, many of which I have tried to cover in my reports.
