Air Pollution In New Delhi Continues To Be At Alarming Levels

impacts of air pollution

Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI), that is, its pollution level, is getting worse day by day.

We all know that Delhi’s air is the most polluted in India. It is also one of the most polluted cities in the world. The AQI level in Delhi has been increasing rapidly, year by year. Though the government has been making some efforts to contain the situation, 2019 doesn’t seem any better than the previous years.

People in Delhi—adults, youth, children, the elderly—are breathing in unhealthy air everyday. Knowing that the quality of the air is very bad in Delhi, all we are still breathing this polluted air, which will cause many harmful diseases. According to a study, in India more than 1.2 million people died due to air pollution related diseases.

Knowing all these things are happening around us in Delhi, we still ignore the consequences of air pollution. Actually, air pollution is a very dangerous death threat.

AQI India recently launched a platform to check real-time air pollution levels of each city in India. They also launched an android app for the same. This is a good initiative for all of us.
