14 February 2019, marks a black day for us Indians, because we lost 44 of our CRPF Jawans in a suicide attack, which was claimed by a Pakistani terror group Jaish-E-Mohammad. But something was different this time. This time no terrorist had crossed the border, it was, in fact, a local youth, Adil Ahmad Dar of Pulwama, who lived 10 km far from the place where he attacked the CRPF convoy, with his car carrying 300 kg of explosives. We are all angry and our heart goes out to their families. This loss is too big to contain our emotions.
But we have collectively also lost something else besides our soldiers. Do you realise what that is? Let me help you. That is our Hosh (our sense of right and wrong). Yes! We have completely lost that.
We are angry and we want to exhibit our anger. For that, many of us are ready to do whatever we can, to take revenge. But, wait a minute and think. This attack was sponsored by terror group Jaish-E-Mohammad, and was executed by a Kashmiri youth, Adil Ahmad Dar. For that, how can we blame all Kashmiris? How can we boycott Kashmiris? Kashmiri students and civilians living in other states for studies, jobs and other purposes, are facing problems across India. Just because the attack was committed by a Kashmiri or because some hate mongers supported the attack on the CRPF convoy, how can we lose our rationality?
Barring a few exceptions, citizens of our country, along with the ones living in Kashmir, stood united to condemn this cowardly attack on our bravehearts. But soon after the attack, we saw some hateful posts encouraging the boycott of all the people from Jammu and Kashmir. These attacks and boycott movements will bring nothing but hate for India, in the hearts of Kashmiris. Kashmir and its people are our own, and they deserve the same respect and opportunities as each one of us.
Our soldiers are the greatest examples of discipline and obedience of law and order. An example of humanity, yet again, is CRPF’s new initiative Madadgaar. They put a post on Twitter for all Kashmiris, facing the unfair aftermath of the attack, across the country.
This message shows the generosity and selflessness of our soldiers, who are always ready to help us. They understand the value of life. Families of those Kashmiris, living outside the state, are worried about the safety of their loved ones. These attacks on innocent people, who have nothing to do with the Pulwama terror attack doesn’t show your nationalism, because nationalism means love for constitution also. By attacking innocents, attackers are violating laws. That can’t be nationalism in my opinion!

Let’s respect our bravehearts by respecting our constitution and respecting the people of our nation…from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, because #UnitedWeWin.
So while you maintain your josh, don’t lose your hosh!
