How many of us can name ONE national or state-based youth health policy or program? Our guess is, not very many of us can.
Of course, part of the reason is that these policies and programs aren’t promoted enough or in the right way. But, more importantly, the reason for this is that young people are often not part of policymaking and program design process. It is time this changed!
This is why Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3 India) is launching the YouthBol campaign so that young people can help shape youth health policies and programs of the country.
YouthBol sets out to survey 1,00,000 adolescents and young people between the ages 10 to 24 from capital cities to rural villages, about their top priority for information and health services. The campaign has two components – (1) an on-ground, offline component that targets 10-24 year olds through a pen and paper poll, and (2) an online poll that is open to youth aged 18-24 through an online #EkMinuteKaPoll.
YouthBolPoll Results Will Be:
- Shared with the government to inform existing and new youth health policies and programs
- Shared with non-governmental stakeholders, policy makers and adolescent and youth health and rights advocates to inform their programs and interventions for adolescents and young people
The YouthBol online campaign launched on January 28 and participation is super easy!
