Do Indians Really Have The Freedom To Practise The Religion Of Their Choice?

At present, rights are given to every citizen to live their lives with freedom. Freedoms are given to them to live life with dignity.

These freedoms include the Fundamental Rights of our Constitution, as under Article 19, Article 21 (the right to life with dignity), and Articles 25, 26, 27 and 28 (religious freedom).

Article 25 talks about the freedom to practice any religion.

I have seen that religious conversion, especially in rural areas, which is mostly not voluntarily, is taking place when people are either under threat of force or fear or greed. This is wrong, as it violates Article 25, which says that any person can practice the religion of their choice, of their own will. However, practising religion should be free. Meaning it should not be done through force. But some religious activists are doing this, and trying to perform religious conversion for their own benefit. Doing this in the name of religion is wrong.

There should be a conversion on the basic ideology of practising one’s religion. This will help promote the religious values of that religion.
