Why RSS couldn’t hoist National Flag till 2002?
Facts and Regulations:
We need to see the Acts and Codes that govern the Display of National Flag.
The Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950 (No.12 of 1950) and the [Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act], 1971 (No. 69 of 1971) were the TWO acts which governed the display of National Flag till 2002.
These acts prohibited any private individual or body to use National Flag or any National Symbol or certain names in any form. Hence, RSS, as always a law abiding organization heeded to the provisions of use of National Flag.
In 2002, there came the Flag Code of India. This code superseded both the previous acts and allowed any individual or organization to hoist National Flag without dishonouring it. Hence, RSS started to hoist the National Flag from that particular year.
Hence, please stop spreading lies about RSS with regard to National Flag.
