Seven people brutally gang-raped and later murdered an eight-year-old girl in Kathua.
On Jan 12, the little girl was feeding her horse in the forest near her house, where one of the accused kidnapped the girl and dragged her into the temple, where all of them raped her and also drugged her repeatedly keeping her sedated and without food.
Before she was strangled and hit twice with a heavy rock, one of the men stopped them so that he could rape her one last time. The girl’s body was found in the forest on Jan 17.
An investigation led the police to Ret. Ragasava officer, Sanji Ram, who was the alleged mastermind of the whole plan. His 19-year-old nephew often saw the girl feeding the horses.
The man who allegedly wanted to rape the girl one more time before she was killed is Special Police Officer Deepak Khajuria, according to the police chargesheet.
The fourth accused was Sanji Ram’s son Vishal Jangotra, who specially came from Meerut to Kathua to “satisfy his lust”.
The teen named the fifth accused as his friend, Mannu, who also raped her repeatedly.
In an investigation, another name came in highlight is Parvesh Kumar, an Assistant Police Officer, who helped their officers in raping the little girl.
The chargesheet says, sub -inspector Anand Dutta and head constable Tilak Raj don’t collect vital evidence and washed the girl’s dress to help the accused and to hide the crime.
