I have had the honour of meeting India’s first male witch and let me tell you he is NOT evil!
Here is his story.
Since childhood, Anujj Elviis was always attracted to spirituality and occultism. He used to think of it as some deep, hidden art that very few can learn and practice. He still remembers when he was 13, he started questioning and no one was able to put a rest to his curiosity and answer his questions.
When he succumbed to jaundice and his mother left no stones unturned to save him. The doctors had given up and so surprisingly she took to Mystics and contacted a local yet powerful Tantra practitioner who claimed that he had brought him back. When he contacted this practitioner and thanked him that’s when it was revealed to him that he had come back with some special powers. He shunned the idea away and moved on.
However, soon he started seeing spirits and most of his crossed over relatives and acquaintances. Naturally, he wasn’t believed by anyone but he moved on and started practising basic elemental Magik. Many times, he would tell his family and friends about things before they happened and shocked and surprised everyone. He might have spooked the kids at school too that’s why he never had many friends.
Soon, he graduated school and did is graduation in Arts and Masters in Sociology. Later, because of his family conditions, started looking for a job. It was during his job that he encountered two incidents that changed his life and pushed him to look deeper into the Occultism. The internet introduced him to terms like black Magik, white Magik etc and from that very moment, he realised that this was his path. He was born in a Christian family and was raised to be a Christian priest. Which he did become only to understand the religion better, however it got harder for him to walk on his path as he was told that he worshipped the devil and had sold his soul.
Anujj’s path is based on 3 principles:
- Knowledge of self
- Power over Self
- Control over self.
He was also a part of an international project where he contributed in the book “The Good Witches Guide” by Shawn Robbins and Charity Bedell published by Sterling Ethos. Pagan Pages has featured him as “A Wiccan in India” in their monthly magazine.
As he continued reading and practising he realised the path is wider than he expected. Even hundreds of lives won’t be enough to learn everything. During this journey, he came across several abilities which he possessed by birth. Like Clairvoyance, Clair-audience, Empathy, Psychic abilities etc. This gives him the power to foresee future events, communicate with spirits and so on.
He believes that all of us are born with some or the other gifts but most of us never open our package that is our soul we have to look within for us to see our real self. It has been 24 years and he has practised many occult practices and helped and healed many. In 2011 he started an online Facebook school to offer various courses to occult enthusiast worldwide and especially Indians after noticing so much misinformation all over the country.
India is a land of myths and old civilization but in the last few centuries, it has absorbed more into itself making its people farther from the nature-based worship we used to practice. Because of some con artists ruining people’s lives for their own benefit, things have become very difficult for a real practitioner. People are still killed in the name of witchcraft in this country.
Unfortunately, those who do follow their calling are shunned. So many people are killed in the name of religion and beliefs. This is why they cloak themselves all the time and any activity they do.
In 2009, Anujj established the “Indian Traditional Wicca” to support the Wiccans in the country and registered the first Wiccan Temple in India. At The Earth Temple, they aim to bring like-minded people together who are called back to nature, who seek inner truth and service to the society. They provide free and paid courses on various subjects and conduct workshops all over India. All their earnings are used in supporting the underprivileged.
Through his organization ‘Mannsha Solutions’, he runs a small charity along with the online Facebook School “Earth Temple Magik School”. He and his volunteers go to the slums and the poor and work with their kids.
Lots of underprivileged children in India do not get to live their childhood the way it is intended by the universe. They are forced into child labour, sometimes because of their circumstances and sometimes by their own parents. Through his project “The Van” he would like to ensure they get to live their childhood. “The Van” goes to a designated slum every weekend and the volunteers read fairy tales and children stories to these children. Nothing fancy simply making sure they enjoy their childhood at least for 2 days and someone reads them stories and they colour some pictures and have fun. “Feel free to support. If not, send your prayers and blessings,” he says.
He blends Wicca with a lot of other things. An Eclectic is a person who practices any form of Eclectic spirituality. He is someone who incorporates elements from various other religions and spiritual paths into his own personal spiritual practice. To be an Eclectic it is important to see the good in all religions and to respect all faiths. Wicca to him is fertility and a nature-oriented Earth-based religion that honours the Divine in all aspects of life and nature. He gives a lot of importance to prayers, energy work, meditation and divination. Magik is the Divine working through you to bring about change in the world says Rev.H.P. Anujjj Elviis. He has explored his own ways, methods and techniques towards the path of self-realisation. He is Spiritualist, Psychic, Clairvoyant, Medium and a Healer.
According to him, Wicca is an all accepting religion that accepts anyone and everyone regardless of sex, caste, creed and gender and gender preference, in fact, according to him there are more LGBTQPA (Lesbian. Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Pan-sexual and Asexual) folks in the religion than heterosexual. He says, “Wicca is a contemporary Pagan new religious movement. It was developed in England during the first half of the 20th century and was introduced to the public in 1954 by Gerald Gardner, a retired British civil servant. Wicca draws upon a diverse set of ancient pagan and 20th-century hermetic motifs for its theological structure and ritual practices. Wicca has no central authority. Its traditional core beliefs, principles and practices were originally outlined in the 1940’s and 1950’s by Gardner and Doreen Valiente, both in published books as well as in secret written and oral teachings passed along to their initiates.Wicca is typically duo-theistic, worshipping a Goddess and a God. Essentially when Wiccans practice they invoke the goddess and god within them and strike a balance when they do it perfect balance of the feminine and masculine side. Because Wicca is all about striking a balance within. Wicca is perhaps the most accepting and non-judging religion of all and especially it does not judge you on the basis of one’s sexual orientation.”
“I will promote Wicca in India as long as I live and in a rightful manner,” said Dr.Anujj Elviis and urged me to share his story with everyone so that people know.
