What Happens When You Skip Your Breakfast

A lot of people skip breakfast for a lot of reasons! 

What happens inside of their bodies when they do?

1. Your breakfast is not just a meal but a collection of nutrients. Nutrients which fuel you, energize you, give you all the essential vitamins and minerals keeping in mind the quality and quantity of the meal.

2. Skipping breakfast impairs body’s ability to manage blood glucose levels thus putting itself at a risk of developing prediabetes and/or diabetes!

3. Your cortisol levels remain high until you eat which means your body is under constant stress. People with adrenal fatigue are impacted even more.

4. You might have brain-fog! Even coffee will not help if you suffer from adrenal fatigue! It will, in fact, make things worse!

5. There is a proven connection between food intake and regulation of neurotransmitters produced in by the brain. Skipping breakfast might disrupt that. Serotonin and dopamine levels are affected due to increase in stress caused by skipping breakfast!

6. Skipping breakfast means you may end up gorging yourself in at the next meal. This will also increase your chances of eating unhealthy food!

7. Your immunity takes a hit. The healthy and anti-inflammatory meal is needed for your body to renew damaged immune cells (T-cells).

8. Your body gets acidic! The body releases acid in the stomach to help digesting food! When you don’t eat any, acid might surge up to the walls of food pipe and stomach and will lead to acidity! Not good.

9. When you skip breakfast, the body sends chemical signals to release stored energy. This may include a breakdown of muscle mass for immediate energy.
