Yoga is an ancient way of meditating and finding peace. Not only this, studies suggest that yoga helps treat diseases like cancer, schizophrenia, asthma and heart diseases. The ability to acknowledge yoga in different things we do in our everyday life will help us deal with stress and other problems related to mind and body.
Breathing is one of the most basic elements of yoga; it helps you focus on your work and helps you keep your mind relaxed. It’s also about playing the pauses; centering yourself, relaxing and allowing yourself time to breathe. When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace. Also the way you sit while doing your work especially people who do desk jobs have to be very careful with the posture since posture comes in direct relationship with yoga. Yoga is the union of physical poses and breathing techniques. Taken together, the gap between breaths and your posture create a natural yoga body pose which keeps your mind fresh.
I believe that smiling has the biggest connection to yoga because each time you smile; you throw a little feel good party in your brain. When you smile, it automatically generates the feel good neurotransmitters dopamine; endorphins and serotonin are all released which makes you happy. Happiness is the purest form of yoga since it keeps us positive and motivated. Happiness is not out there, it’s in you. It’s amazing how one can adapt the philosophy of yoga as a part of life. Yoga is an important contribution of India to the world. It is based on the concept of maximum happiness and satisfaction for everybody in the world.
Practicing yoga and putting in the values of yoga in our daily life will help us improve how we live and will also help us progress in terms of positive thoughts and positive work. The other ideologies of yoga includes discipline, trust, faith, belief etc. which I think is the base to human values. All these philosophies of yoga when mixed with our life, helps us to live an active and fresh being. For starters, incorporate just one philosophy of yoga in everything you do and that is by inhaling love and exhaling hate.
