A recent matrimonial ad in a popular Indian newspaper broke stereotypes by searching for a gay groom. And just a while back, Luxemburg’s P.M. wed his same-sex partner in a private ceremony. Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code however criminalises homosexuality deeming it to be ‘against the order of nature‘. In our fight for a fair and equal society, until and unless this brutal, regressive law is burnt down completely, the LGBTQIA community will continue to be made to suffer.
Will the lawmakers please pay heed?
